Cabbage #3

BRAISED CABBAGE AND SAUSAGES
Ingredients:
1 medium head cabbage, thinly sliced
1 c water
¼ c olive oil
1 cup dry white wine
Salt
Dried red pepper flakes
4 Italian sausages, sweet or hot
Handful grape or cherry tomatoes

Directions: Start by cutting the cabbage into halves and remove the core. Then slice the cabbage into thin strips. Place them in a large skillet on medium heat. Add water, oil, wine and season with salt and pepper. If you want it spicy, add the red pepper flakes as well. Cover and cook over medium heat until tender. While that’s happening, pour olive oil in a second skillet and brown the sausages on all sides. Cut the tomatoes in half and cook them in the sausage oil. After browning the sausages, and lightly cooking the tomatoes, cut the sausages into chunks and add them and the tomatoes to the cabbage. The whole process should take about 20 minutes.
